We have two programs for weight loss at the McClurkan Clinic depending on how much weight you have to lose and how rapidly you wish to lose it. The mainstay program was designed by Medical Bariatrics of America (MBA) and has been shown to be safe and successful long-term in over 100,000 patients in thirty clinics nationwide. It focuses on teaching you how to eat real food instead of trying to sell you lots of supplements and meal replacements. You will learn how to balance calories, protein and carbohydrate intake daily not only for weight loss, but also for maintenance.

We typically see an average of two pounds lost per week.

For those who have a significant amount of weight to lose and/or want to lose faster, we offer the New Directions Very Low Calorie Diet. This plan consists solely of high protein, low carbohydrate meal replacements and typically results in an average of 5 or more pounds lost per week. Meal replacement diets, however, do not teach you how to eat or about nutrition. Close to your goal weight, you will switch to the MBA plan and learn how to eat real food to lose any additional weight and for maintenance.
